CTS gains Validation
In late September 2003 Continental Theological Seminary, located in picturesque St. Pieters-Leeuw near Brussels, Belgium, received validation from the University of Wales. The validated degrees are BA (Hons) in Bible and Applied Theology with specialisations offered in Biblical Languages, Christian Education, or Missions; and MTh with pathways to Biblical Studies or Missions.
Although for many years the seminary has offered BA and MA degrees, the school's leadership has long sought official recognition of its degrees. This academic recognition now enables students to receive recognized European degrees and to transfer credits for further education to any institution of their choice. CTS students are now eligible to apply for study stipends from their local governments which will lower their overall educational costs.
Since 1959, CTS has provided Pentecostal training for students throughout Europe, Africa, the Middle East, South America and Asia. Today, an international faculty from the United States, Africa, Finland, Sweden, Switzerland, Bulgaria, Germany, Canada, Great Britain and Belgium are preparing nearly 200 international men and women for ministry. Annually, more than 30 nations are represented in its student body. Graduates now minister in more than 60 countries.
The seminary feels that this state university's validation is a major step forward in the continuing development of CTS. As Continental continues to seek ways to impact Europe and the world by training effective Christian leaders, the potential for growth is stronger than ever.
